Terms of Service

 

TEOREMA Project, hereafter simply TEOREMA, is a didactic project, born form a common effort of all Lombard economics universities and CILEA Interuniversitary Consortium, nowadays merged into Cineca Interuniversitary Consortium. Since 2003 TEOREMA is a service dedicated to universities. Occasionally it is used even by secondary schools or private citizens.

TEOREMA’s aim is to help improve base mathematics education of freshmen and prospects students of economic faculties. TEOREMA addresses freshmen of universities which subscribed this service, to allow them an easier path to mathematical courses.

TEOREMA was built as a self learning Math course on a dedicated e-learning platform. Its modular structure covers all basic mathematics, to help you face and facilitate courses in economics, or in general, in any scientific subject.TEOREMA better use is just before or during first months of academic courses, or to help you prepare the admission tests. TEOREMA is used via an auto registration service by students and students-to-be of the universities who have signed up for the service. To access TEOREMA Service and for any further information on, please get in touch with the referent teachers of your university, who must also give you the details to correctly access it. TEOREMA Service is available to users (hereafter also simply students) under the following Rules and Terms of Service only.

TEOREMA Rules and Terms of Service

1. TEOREMA is an e learning course, used in self learning by real people, to improve his/her own ability in mathematics. No other use is admitted
2. TEOREMA is free of charge for users of the universities which have signed up for the service and which support its costs. It is usually offered by these universities to their first year students and students-to-be.
3. Access to TEOREMA for other kind of students, other schools or private citizens is under Cineca explicit prior approbation and it could be charged with specific costs for the user and/or the organization involved.
4. TEOREMA is reserved to students of age (18 years or more).
5. TEOREMA use is on personal base only and for the sole purposes indicated here. Any commercial, marketing or other use of TEOREMA Service is explicitly prohibited. Any violation of this rule will be prosecuted according the law and will immediately stop TEOREMA usage.
6. TEOREMA access codes are strictly personal, not transferable to others for any purpose.
7. Access to TEOREMA is made via Internet only and it requires its users a proper device, usually a computer, access to an Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and a modern browser used with personal credentials. There are no other ways to access this service.
8. Access to TEOREMA requires the user to fill an auto registration form and the consent to the processing of personal data. The consent to personal data management is mandatory to obtain the personal account and can be given by users of age only (18 years or more in Italy). Personal data are managed by Cineca according Italian and European laws. The processing of personal data shall follow the principles of correctness, legality and transparency and protection of your privacy rights. See further details here.
9. Your account to TEOREMA Service will last one year (365 days) since the day Cineca release it. Expired this term, your access to the service will terminate.
10. Access to TEOREMA can be terminate as well by the user in any moment before its natural end, contacting Cineca support staff. Cineca staff could ask you some personal data or a secret word to confirm your request.
11. Access to TEOREMA can be terminated in any moment also by Cineca, without any need for Cineca to explicit the reasons to the user.
12. Under specific conditions, usually didactic or scientific, the access to TEOREMA can be extended beyond its natural end. This request could come from the student, the subscribed university or Cineca itself.

INFORMATION ON PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

 

Information on processing of personal data pursuant to art.13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation)

 

 

This information is provided under art. 13 of Regulation EU 2016/679 – General Data Protection Regulation, and in relation to the personal data which comes into the possession of Cineca Consorzio Interuniversitario (hereinafter Cineca) as a result of the completion of the form for registration to TEOREMA service, through the website https://elearning.teorema.cineca.it.

We therefore provide you with the following information:

1) IDENTITY AND CONTACT DATA OF THE DATA CONTROLLER

The "Data Controller" is Cineca Consorzio Interuniversitario based in Casalecchio di Reno (BO) in via Magnanelli 6/3 – postal code 40033.

2) CONTACT DATA OF THE DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

Cineca has a data protection Officer, appointed pursuant to art. 37 of Regulation EU 2016/679. The data protection officer can be contacted at the following email address: dpo@cineca.it

3) PURPOSES OF PROCESSING AND LEGAL BASIS OF PROCESSING

Your personal data are processed in order to carry out all and only the required activities to allow you to access TEOREMA service, dedicated to base Mathematics instruction for freshmen and prospects students of economic faculties.

The legal basis for the processing of the personal data you will provide to Cineca is the consent you will explicitly express to complete and send your registration request to this service. This consent is mandatory to complete and make active your registration to TEOREMA Service.

4) PERSONAL DATA RECIPIENTS AND CATEGORIES OF RECIPIENTS

The recipients of the data you provide to us are the Data Controller (CINECA Consorzio Interuniversitario) and any data Processors appointed by Cineca, as well as the natural persons within Cineca who have been charged with processing the data for the above purposes.

Your personal data and the ones relating to the TEOREMA Service usage could be transmitted by Cineca only to the university to which you belong or through which you registered.

In the special case of single TEOREMA user not belonging to any university, his/her personal data will not be shared.

The data being processed and recorded in web information systems, will be stored on Italian territory in Cineca servers located in Casalecchio di Reno (BO) and Roma (RM) and they will be never transferred to any third part.

Your personal data will not undergo dissemination, nor used for any commercial purpose.

5) DATA STORAGE PERIOD

The determination of the storage period of your personal data is based on the principle of the need for processing.

Your personal data will therefore be stored for as long as necessary to carry out the purposes indicated in par. 3 and stated in TEOREMA Terms of Service page

At the end of your TEOREMA usage period, as stated in TEOREMA Terms of Service page, your access to this service will be closed. Within three months since then your personal data processing will cease as well.

Note that Cineca could keep a pseudo-anonymized copy your tracking data only, not of personal ones, for statistical purposes only.

6) RIGHTS OF THE DATA SUBJECT

Please note that you have the following rights in relation to the personal data provided by you:

1. to have access to your personal data;
2. to obtain the rectification or erasure of your data or the restriction of processing concerning you;
3. to object to the processing;
4. to data portability (right applicable only to data in electronic format), as governed by article 20 of EU Regulation 2016/679;
5. to revoke consent at any time without prejudice to the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent given prior to revocation (it must be pointed out that the right to revoke consent cannot, of course, be exercised in cases where processing is necessary, for example, to fulfil a legal obligation to which the data controller is subject or for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in connection with the exercising of official authority vested in the data controller).
   In this particular case, to revoke consent for TEOREMA Service means to terminate its usage at once.
6. to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

Please note that in order to exercise the above rights (points 1 to 5) you can contact Cineca in this two ways:

• If logged in, pick a choice in Privacy and policies section, under your Personal profile

Cineca is required to provide you with a reply within one month of the request, extendable up to three months in case of particularly complex requests.

7) MANDATORY OR OPTIONAL NATURE OF DATA PROVISION AND THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANY FAILURE TO PROVIDE DATA

The provision of your data is mandatory in order to proceed with the registration to TEOREMA Service and failure to provide them will not enable you to correctly access and use this service.
